Breonna Taylor, who was an EMT on the frontlines during our current coronavirus pandemic, is another Black life who fell victim to police brutality. Around midnight on March 13th police broke down her door and shot her 8 times, no evidence of a crime was ever uncovered.
Small changes have occurred in the time since, including a law banning no-knock warrants in Louisville that has been named in honor of Taylor. One of her killers has been fired from the police department, while the other two have been put on administrative leave. However, this barely scratches the surface for justice.
Today thousands gathered in Frankfort, Kentucky to demand John Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Detective Myles Cosgrove be charged and arrested for the death of Breonna Taylor.
