Back in 2018, TMZ reported that rapper M.O.S. (Leander C. Pickett) was hitting Migos with copyright infringement for their 2018 hit "Walk It Talk it" featuring Drake. According to M.O.S., their song was a rip off of his 2007 track called "Walk It Like I Talk It."
People noticed right away that the two songs do sound very similar, however, people also noted that the lyrics used in both songs were very common phrase. This fact turned out to be what saved Migos in the end.
Today, news broke that on Tuesday the court ruled in favor of Migos and dropped the lawsuit. Thanks to the information from legal documents obtained by Complex we now know that, "[U.S. District Judge Analisa Nadine] Torres determined M.O.S. had no case, as the phrase "walk it like I talk it" is so common it was not susceptible to copyright protection."
