This morning it was confirmed by his former Michigan State teammates that Charles Rogers has passed at the age of 38.
It has been revealed that Rogers had cancer and his death was caused by liver failure. "He had cancer, whether that was related to his liver I don't know," said Marshall Thomas, Rogers' former Saginaw High basketball coach. "They had given him 30 days to live if he didn't get a liver transplant."
Back in 2003, Rogers was selected by the Lions and was the second overall pick in the NFL draft. His time with the Lions was cut short after just three seasons due to various injuries and problems with drugs. Many of his peers have taken to Twitter to give their condolences and remember his talents.
