It's been awhile since we've heard from Lil Wayne, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been working. He's back after a long road to finish "Tha Carter V" and opened up to Billboard Magazine about his childhood suicide attempt, his new music, and how he thinks that Nicki Minaj is still the queen of hip-hop.
Wayne talked about how the release of "Carter V" went to shambles a few days before it was supposed to release, years ago when he was still part of Cash Money records and how he wanted out of there, saying,
“I am a prisoner and so is my creativity.”
Which led to a lawsuit of a heft $51 Million against the label and Birdman, which alleged a breach of contract and failure to pay. Which put the album on hold, indefinitely.
Now that Young Money is completely independent of Cash Money, they have released the album cover of "Tha Carter V" and it's set to release September 21st!
