An SF Judge has said that it is "cruel and unusual punishment" for police to arrest people that are sleeping on the street.

KRON 4 reported that the appeals court in SF have sided with six homeless people from Idaho that sued the city back in 2009 that prohibited sleeping in public spaces... the city already has a law that it is a misdemeanor to lie or sit down on a public sidewalk during the hours of 7:00am to 11:00 pm.

It is unclear whether this rule will also be lifted...
