17-year-old Michael Brown of Houston, Texas just got accepted to a some really good colleges.
Not just a few, but 20 schools. He also got full-ride scholarships to all of them.Brown was accepted by Ivy League schools like Harvard, Princeton and Yale as well as Stanford, Northwestern and Georgetown.
Each college awarded Brown a different combination of scholarships and grants. He got a 1540 on the SAT and has a 4.68 grade point average.Brown hasn't committed to one college yet but his mother hopes he will attend Stanford or Harvard. Brown intends on studying Political Science and wants to be a lawyer.
The New York Times spoke to his mother who couldn't be more proud of her son saying,
“I cried because I realized that there was a chance that my child would get the education he deserves — the one I could not afford to pay for,” she said.
“He actually earned it,” said Ms. Rutledge-Brown, a drug counselor. “I always knew Mike would get into a good school. I always knew he’d get good scholarship support. But I never imagined this.”
