Texas artist Lil' Troy is in recovery after he was recently hospitalized.

Over the holiday weekend, Geto Boys MC Willie D revealed that the "Wanna Be A Baller" rapper suffered from a heart attack and was "fighting for his life." On Monday, September 2, the 58-year-old artist, born Troy Birklett, told AllHipHop that he's doing a lot better.

“I’m good feeling good and ready to get back to being Superman,” he said in a text message. “Feeling bless[ed]. Getting to start a new life of [eating] right and going to the doctor and taking my meds.”

This is the second time Lil' Troy has managed to dodge what could've been a fatal incident. Back in 2021, Troy, who also owns Birklett Trucking Company, was driving from Arkansas to his hometown of Houston when his 18-wheeler truck caught on fire. Troy recalled how the smoke began to fill his cab before flames erupted from the hood of the truck. He was able to pull the truck over and escape with his life. However, his attempts to put out the fire failed.

“I was trying to find a way to get off the freeway first and not hit another car or no car hit me and thinking about my family,” he told AllHipHop at the time. “Thinking about, this is not the way I’m supposed to go out like, ‘No, God got a better plan for me. I know this is ain’t it. Stay calm, stay cool.’ I had to get out the situation.”

Thankfully, Lil Troy will make a full recovery.
