Cam'ron and Ma$e have yet to let up on boxer Shakur Stevenson after he responded to their harsh criticism about his recent victory against Artem Harutyunyan.
After Stevenson defended his WBC lightweight title in his hometown of Newark, NJ over the weekend, the rappers-turned-hosts of It Is What It Is hit the 27-year-old with harsh critiques after he secured his win on Monday morning, July 8. Ma$e said Stevenson is a "cocky fighter" who's more of a defensive fighter in the ring. He also thinks he would lose if he fought the division's other top boxer Gervonta Davis. Cam appeared to agree with his co-host.
“He just needs to accept he’s a defensive fighter. He’s not an offensive fighter — and there’s nothing wrong with that," Ma$e said. "He’s gotta get some offense and he’s gotta get some strength in his hands.”
“I got home, seen the 11th, 12th round and saw n***as walking out," Cam responded. "Them n***as was booing! I’m like, ‘Yo, you’re at home and they’re booing you.'”
After the episode dropped, their comments made it back to Stevenson who went all the way in on both rappers. In a series of posts on X, he referred to Ma$e as "a fake pastor Surviving Diddy ass n***a." He also said "Big teething Cam'ron needs to STFU."
“Same way I felt bout his rap career n***a more famous for his podcast then his failed career,” Stevenson wrote. “PAC the Goat who tf is Mase and Camron these n***as not legends they just was the n***as hanging around the legend.”
After Stevenson responded, Cam and Ma$e continued to troll the fighter. Before their show on Tuesday, both rappers and their co-host Stat Baby tried to watch the uneventful fight for themselves. By the 11th round, all three of them fell asleep, which gave them plenty of ammo to fire back at Stevenson with during their formal response.
