BART is celebrating 50 Years of service! The transportation service first opened on September 11, 1972 and has been serving the Bay Area for five decades.

Here's how you can celebrate this huge milestone:

Riders will receive 50% off all fares all month long. Discounted fares (youth, senior, Regional Transportation Connection, Clipper Start, and Gator Pass) will also get an additional 50% off.

The Lake Merritt Station will host a BART Museum from September 1st to September 30th. You'll be able to check out "archival photos, historic BART maps, and a timeline of BART milestones."

On September 10th from 11a-4p, join BART for a 50th Birthday Party and Family Fun Festival at the Lake Merritt Station and Plaza! The public celebration will be live streamed and guests will be able to check out food trucks, live music, play games, meet the BART-Man Luchador and more! A time capsule opening is also part of the main stage program. Get more information on the event here.

Later this month, you can check out the Sound Tracks Free Concert Series! The Downtown Berkeley, El Cerrito del Norte and Glen Park Stations will host live bands on select dates. Get all the details here.

The Powell Street Station will have vintage video games from September 3rd to September 9th. The games are available to play for free from 9a to 5p each day. The games represent BART's partnership with Atari back in 1976.

You can also celebrate by purchasing BART's exclusive 50th Anniversary merchandise here!
