Oakland Ice Cream Shop Closed Indefinitely After Devastating Burglary

Flavor Brigade in Oakland will be closing indefinitely after a recent burglary devastated the shop.

The popular Italian Ice, Frozen Custard, Organic Ice Cream shop shared footage of the burglary, where a vehicle rammed into the front windows. The vehicle destroyed everything in its path as the thieves proceeded to steal the shop's ATM machine. The careless thieves got away with $530 in the ATM, but caused almost $100,000 of damages, according to SF GATE.

"Multiple freezers, the countertop, product, the wall and floors, windows and new register have all been destroyed," the shop announced. Due to the cost of repairs, Flavor Brigade will be closed indefinitely.

A GoFundMe has been set up on the shop's behalf. "The owners are amazing people who know you by first name and always have a smile. They have become a staple in the Dimond," said Nix Tiger, who organized the fundraiser. As of July 26, almost half of the $50,000 goal has been raised.
