Starting in November, unvaccinated Delta Airlines employees will be charged extra for their company health care plan. The extra charge comes from COVID-19 hospitalizations costing upwards $50,000.

According to NBC Bay Area, Delta Airlines "will stop extending pay protection to unvaccinated workers who contract COVID-19 on Sept. 30, and will require unvaccinated workers to be tested weekly beginning Sept. 12, although Delta will cover the cost."

Delta Airlines hopes the extra charge will encourage current employees to get vaccinated, while new hires are required to be vaccinated.
