The Sheriff's Union announced on Friday that they oppose the vaccine mandate for San Francisco deputies. They claim the mandate will cause deputies to quit or retire, causing staffing problems for the already understaffed force.

The sheriff's union says that they support masking and taking all health precautions, but disagrees with San Francisco's policy to get vaccinated or be terminated. According to KRON4, "About 23 percent or 160 of the 700 deputies are not vaccinated, the union said, because of religious or other beliefs."
