George Zimmerman Is Suing Elizabeth Warren & Pete Buttigieg For Defamation

George Zimmerman, the man who killed the unarmed teen Trayvon Martin in 2012 and was acquitted, is suing two presidential candidates for alleged defamation.

Zimmerman's claim is that presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg painted him as a racist and white supremacist in order to "garner votes in the black community" with their tweets remembering Trayvon Martin on what would have been his 25th birthday, reported Newsweek.

The tweets being used in the lawsuit are below:

"It is high time that the cheap and harmful use of the race card by politicians of all stripes be made to cease and desist," said Zimmerman's attorney, Larry Klayman, in a statement obtained by Newsweek. "Their despicable 'race tactics' are not only causing great harm to persons such as my client George Zimmerman, but also are damaging relations between black and white Americans who are all brothers."
