Meghan Markle Mom-Shamed For How She Held Archie During Canadian Hike

Following all the royal drama over the past couple weeks, Meghan Markle was spotted looking happy and carefree while out on walk in Vancouver with Archie and her two dogs. The paparazzi photos of a smiling Meghan quickly went viral on social media, which is when the moms-shaming started. According to them, the way Meghan was carrying Archie was all wrong.

"Too busy smiling for the cameras to make sure her son is comfortable and safe," one troll wrote on Twitter. "Did she shove him to the side to get a better picture?" another chimed in. "Somebody should show her how to carry a baby...a very large lifeless baby...looks like a struggle and the dogs don't look too thrilled either...only one happy in the entire farce is Meghan," a third troll and apparent dog-happiness-expert added.

According to Scary Mommy, the carrier Meghan was using in the photos was the Ergobaby Omni 360 All Positions baby carrier. As the name of the carrier suggests, this particular items allows parents to carry their baby in all positions, including the one Archie was photographed in. It appears Meghan was carrying Archie in the "hip carry" position, which is recommended for babies 6 months and older. Archie, of course, is almost 9 months old.

This isn't the first time Meghan has been mom-shamed for the way she holds Archie, either. Over the summer, the Duchess of Sussex surprised royal watchers by showing up to support Prince Harry at a polo match. She brought Archie along for the outing, too. Just like with her mom recent outing in Canada, critics shamed Meghan for the way she held Archie during their fun day out together.

Meghan's supporters, however, came to her defense by pointing out many experts recommend holding infants exactly the way the Duchess was holding Archie. Her supporters shared screenshots from Healthline, which instruct parents to hold "baby's body parallel with your own" and "rest their head on your chest and shoulder so they can look out behind you." This position is soothing for baby's because they can hear their parent's heartbeat.

Meghan and Harry threatened legal action against British tabloids for the publication of paparazzi photos from Meghan's hike, so, it seems like the Sussexes have bigger fish to fry than mom-shamers on Twitter.
