UPDATE: Nipsey confirmed on Twitter Thursday (January 14) that he and Lauren are NOT engaged.
Meet the future Mr. and Mrs. Asghedom, maybe.
According to TMZ, Lauren London said "yes" to Nipsey Hussle. However, a rep for the "Double Up" rapper disputed the claim, saying the couple, who share a two-year-old son, are still just dating. Now here's where things get interesting. The gossip site broke the news of the couple's alleged engagement on Monday (January 14), after a source shared photos of Nipsey and Lauren's upcoming GQ cover shoot, which will reportedly serve as their official engagement announcement. Given the "exclusive" nature of these stories, it may explain why the rapper's rep denied their engagement — they can't spoil the surprise.
Despite the rep's denial, multiple sources connected to the GQ shoot and to the rapper told TMZ the pair is "definitely engaged."
On Saturday (January 12), an onlooker shared photos of Nipsey and Lauren being photographed on a residential street in Los Angeles as they wore matching cream outfits. Their fairytale-like photoshoot — which in many ways screamed: "these are engagement photos!" — also included a white horse, which Lauren even sat atop at one point. The 33-year-old rapper and 34-year-old actress reportedly spent about two hours on the photoshoot and appeared super super happy the entire time.
As fans know, the couple called it quits on their three-plus year relationship back in November 2017, saying it was "a mutual choice" and they planned to "function with each-other as family [with] love and respect." However, months later, Nipsey and Lauren were spotted back together, looking like more than friendly exes, and their break-up seemed like a thing of the past.
Just last month, Nipsey sparked marriage rumors after he referred to Lauren as his "wife" while talking to TMZ cameramen. However, Lauren later shot down those rumors, writing "I’M NOT MARRIED Y’ALL CHILLLLLLL" on her Instagram Story.
Guess we'll have to wait and see that upcoming GQ cover to know what's really going on.
