A Timeline of Kanye's Return to Twitter- Music, Politics & Presidency

Kanye West made his return to Twitter earlier this month when he reactivated his account. True to Ye form, his comeback came with several rants. @kanyewest has tweeted 200 times since April 13th, speaking on everything from fashion projects to life advice.

His tweets quickly went viral, especially after revealing the release dates for new music. Fans went wild after learning Ye's plans to release a solo album along with a Kid Cudi project called 'Kids See Ghosts' on June 8th.

Ye has sparked controversy this morning after posting a thread of tweets that seemingly endorse president Donald Trump. Kanye started expressing his views about Trump with this tweet:

Ye has been notorious for going against the "popular culture current" but not all of his fans were on board with this opinion. Twitter was quick to bash these "pro-Trump" tweets, even questioning Kanye's mental health. Kim Kardashian West jumped to her husband's defense in a string of tweets of her own, saying:

Kanye clarified Kim's words with another tweet, saying:

"My wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don't agree with everything Trump does. I don't agree 100% with anyone but myself."

Kanye tweeted a photo of himself wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat shortly following. Check out the tweets below:

Trump approved of the the posts, thanking Kanye on his personal twitter account.

These tweets come shortly after #Kanye2024 posters started appearing in Chicago, LA and New York. The posters include a headshot of Ye and read: "Keep America Great", see below:

Ye has made past claims that he will run for president. During the 2015 VMAs he claimed he would be running in 2020. Check out the footage below:

Only time will tell if Kanye will make the shift from music to politics. Read more about Kanye's tweeting spree here.
