A False Claim That Snickers Chocolate Bars Cause Cancer Is Going Viral

An old video is resurfacing on YouTube and Facebook prompting people to fear that Snickers candy bars cause cancer. The video which was originally posted 2 years ago is of people in Gaza burning boxes of Snickers due to a 2016 recall of the candy bar after plastic in the candy was found. 

In the video a man with the consumer protection bureau in Gaza says, "We destroyed Snickers and Mars chocolate after working with the products' importers and distributors. There was an order for them to be recalled from the market." Since the resurfacing of the video, false claims of the candy causing cancer has gone viral garnering 3,000 shares and over 90,000 views.
