U.S. Issues travel warning to a popular Mexican city

If a spring break or summer vacation trip to Playa del Carmen is in your future, the U.S. says beware. The U.S. embassy in Mexico has issued a travel warning for the resort area, where U.S. Government officials have been prohibited from traveling to the popular Mexican city. 

The U.S. Consular Agency in Playa del Carmen will close "until further notice."The alert was issued on Wednesday night. The embassy "received information about a security threat." T

he warning comes after the February 21st explosion on the ferry that links Playa del Carmen to Cozumel. 25 people were injured including 2 Americans.
