New Developments About to Bring Chaos to the South Bay!

In two years, Santa Clara plans to unveil a massive 230 acre development,  including offices, stores and more than 1,000 new residential units.

CityPlace is a $6.5 billion, nine-million square foot mixed-use project  (office, retail, restaurant and housing) that will be built in phases. The City of San Jose filed a lawsuit to stop the project, citing insufficient housing inventory within Santa Clara city limits.

But then The City of Santa Clara filed a lawsuit of its own,  saying Santana West's office development near Winchester and Stevens Creek Boulevards would lead  to more traffic.

Santana West is going to be developed across the street from Santana Row, and will replace the old Century 22 and 23 theaters.

Under an agreement, the City of San Jose will receive nearly $15 million for traffic improvements in North San Jose. The City of Santa Clara will not be required to build additional housing as part of this  settlement.
