Today's World Mental Health Day! Put Health First! How + Where to Get Help

Mental Health is a VERY important issue. Whether it's making sure you're putting your mental health as a priority in your life or it's making sure that your friends, coworkers and loved ones around you are practicing healthy habits to even helping someone close to you get help if they show signs of needing help.

A study by the World Health Organization found that 2.4 million Americans live with schizophrenia, 6.1 million Americans have bipolar disorder, 16 million suffer from severe depression, and 42 million live with an anxiety disorder. However, only 41% of adults with a mental health condition received help and less than 50% of children 8-15 received mental health services.

Today is World Mental Health Day the perfect time to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote efforts to support mental health in a world where 90% of those who die by suicide have an underlying mental illness.

There are lots of places out there that can help you start healthy practices and even places that can help in extreme cases where help is needed urgently. Sometimes getting help may start with reaching out to a friend or even contacting your doctor. Here are some places that also provide support, if needed!
