If you're an Oakland foodie you've likely noticed that Ozumo closed last year but maybe you didnt know that Pican closes this weekend. The close may be temporary though as the spaces where both existed get remodeled into four separate restaurant spaces.
Two existing restaurants will replace the current Pican & the space where Ozumo was. They will be Bocanova which will move from Jack London Square & another Oakland staple Brown Sugar Kitchen.
Picán might move back into one of the smaller spaces after the remodeling is completed.
One of the managers was quoted saying “Hopefully, we’ll be back in the early to mid-fall,”.
