In the Upper West Side of New York, a 33-story luxury condo has been approved by the city to install a separate "poor door" for low-income residents.

There are 55 units out of the 219 in total are dedicated for low-income tenants which the luxury apartments installed to benefit size of the building space providing they offer low-income tenants a place to rent.

The low-income tenants not only have to enter in the building through the "poor-door" entrance but all the units face the street whereas the luxury units will overlook the waterfront area.
