Major travel is now a reality - but if you don't already have a passport or are up for renewal that reality will be put on hold and for up to 18 weeks! Due to the Pandemic the State Government offices that issue and renew passports has reportedly seen a delay in their processing, which means you should now plan to add roughly 6-8 weeks to your wait time. Prior to Covid this process could take about 10-12 weeks, but now when you factor in processing and time to get it delivered through the mail you're looking at a wait time closer to 4.5 months or 18 weeks at most. Even if you pay the extra dollars to expedite the process, you're still looking at having to wait up to 12 weeks. Hopefully you don't have any travel plans paid for and approved by work - without your Passport in hand, because you're most likely going to have to hit that cancel or reschedule button. For those planning on jumping on a plane, boat or one of these unidentified flying objects (more reports are coming out about them) to get away from home for a bit, start planning now and by about Fall you'll be on your way- unless you actually have a UFO and that's a whole other story made for the big screen! Either way bring me back a keychain, please, por favor, pakiusap, tafadhali, qing!!
